The 7 Bridges Archipelago package tour

Day 1 Arrival in Kokkola. Accommodation is in a central hotel. Welcoming party. Crossing to the lighthouse island of Tankar, with a guided tour of the island, salmon soup and coffee with a bun. Return to the hotel. On Wednesday evenings there is an evening market from 18–21 and water organ music to enjoy. Supper will be in a restaurant in the old town area.

Day 2 Breakfast. A trip to the Toivonen Zoo or a chance to do some shopping from 9–12. Lunch from 12-13. A guided bus tour of Kokkola from 13–15, with coffee and a waffle in the museum area. A bus trip to the Leprosy Hospital in Kronoby: “The saddest place in the world”. Supper at Hästöskata, 18–19. On Thursday evenings there is theatre in Purmo, dancing in Pedersöre or music in the summer night in the old stone church.

Day 3 Breakfast 7–8. A bus trip along the 7 Bridges Archipelago road, via Öja fishing village, Bosund Fishing museum and Larsmo church, to the 7 Bridges Café. Lunch of freshly smoked whitefish (houting) from 11–12. Bus to Jakobstad, with a guided tour of the town from 12.30-13.30. A visit to the Aspegren Garden and to Pedersöre church. The bus then continues to Nanoq Arctic Museum, 14–15. Bus to the childhood home of the father of fairy tales, Topelius, in Kuddnäs. The day finishes with coffee in Juthbacka manor house, followed by the trip back.
